We are pleased to have a distinguished group of North Carolinians as our Board of Directors. They have contributed greatly over the years as scholars, judges, practicing attorneys and concerned citizens. It is their vision and dedication to principles that has resulted in the formation of the North Carolina Institute for Constitutional Law

Bill Graham

is Chairman of the Board of Directors and is currently a member of Duke University Trinity College Board of Visitors. He formerly served the people of NC as Superior Court Judge, Trustee for Wake Technical Community College, and NC Commissioner of Banks.

Art Pope

is Vice-Chairman of the Institute and President of Variety Wholesalers, Inc. He is the President of the John William Pope Foundation and has served on numerous non-profit and business association boards, such as the Institute for Humane Studies, Atlas Economic Research Foundation, Citizens for a Sound Economy, American Conservative Union, Center for Citizenship, Government and Enterprise, the Jesse Helms Center, The Asheville School, the Boy Scouts of America and the NC Retail Merchants Association. He has held posts such as Special Counsel to Governor Jim Martin, four-term legislator in the North Carolina House of Representatives, Republican Joint Caucus Leader, chairman of the NC Republican Party State Convention and delegate to the Republican National Convention. Art is the founding Chairman of the John Locke Foundation.

Robinson Everett

Is a former Chief Judge for the US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He currently serves as a professor at Duke Law School. He also practices law at Everett and Everett Law Firm. Robinson was counsel to the Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights of the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and founded the Center on Law, Ethics and National Security at Duke University Law School.

Ron Link

is A Dan K. Moore Distinguished Professor of Law at the UNC School of Law. Link served as the Acting Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at UNC Law. He received scholastic honoraries from Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Order of the Coif.

Bill Maready

is Partner and founder of Law Offices of William F. Maready, PLLC in Winston-Salem, he concentrates his practice on complex civil litigation. In 2000, Bill received the John S. Locke Society Freedom Award. Previously, Bill served as a Green Beret in the U.S. Army. He (has been named to) was listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in American Law, and The Best Lawyers in America.
